Oldest Village of Europe : Archaeologists have discovered the oldest village in Europe. It was situated on the banks of Lake Ohrid in Albania. It is said to be the oldest settlement found on the banks of the lake in Europe. Experts have ascertained its age by radiocarbon dating of this place.

Archaeologists have discovered Europe's oldest village in excavations near Lake Ohrid in Albania. According to the researchers, this village existed 8000 years ago. Researchers say that this village, protected by a fence with a pointed structure around it, is a priceless treasure. Now as the search progresses, it is expected to reveal all its secrets.

Researchers say that there used to be houses built on scaffolding on the banks of this lake. According to archaeologists, this is the oldest village ever found in Europe, situated on the banks of the lake. Researchers have also tried to estimate the age of this village through radiocarbon dating. According to them, this village existed here before 6000 to 5800 BC. It is estimated that about 500 people lived in this village.

According to scientists, houses were either built on scaffolding above the water or there were houses on the banks of the lake, which were submerged in water when there was a flood. Based on some evidence, archaeologists estimate that there was a fort-like structure around this village. It is estimated that thousands of spears were fenced by the people from all sides for the safety of the village. Scientists say that the people of the village would have had to cut down the entire forest to put up such a huge security fence.

Archaeologists have no idea why the people of this village would have put up such a huge fence for security. Researchers estimate that at least one lakh spears must have been buried in the bottom of the lake to settle the village here. Researchers are considering this village as a valuable treasure for study. Albert Hafner, professor of archeology at the Swiss University of Bern, says that it is several hundred years older than the lakeside settlements known so far in the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps.

Hafner says that based on the information available so far, it is the oldest lakeside village in Europe. Apart from this, among the oldest settlements found in the area, there is also a Neolithic village in the Alps area of Italy, which used to be 5000 years before Christ. The team that carried out this discovery included Hafner along with his archaeologists from Switzerland and Albania.

The team of archaeologists has spent four years digging this village situated on the banks of Lake Ohrid. To find this village, this team was digging at a place named Lin near Ohrid Lake. This place is located on the border of North Macedonia and Albania. Ohrid Lake is also considered one of the oldest lakes in the world. It is said about this lake that it has been on the earth for about one million years.
