What is female circumcision?

All of you must have heard about circumcision of Muslim men. But in some Muslim and Christian communities, circumcision of women also takes place. In this, the outer part of the private part of women is cut with a blade or any sharp tool. This process is very painful. During this the woman is not even made unconscious. Many consider it a process of physical and mental torture for women.

You will be surprised to know that even today women are circumcised in about 92 countries. Out of these, 51 countries have legally banned this practice in their country. India is also included in these countries. However, some people still do it secretly. Many people claim that circumcision benefits women. But medical science does not accept all this.

This practice is prevalent in these countries

WHO has also clarified that any procedure which harms or alters the private parts of women without any medical treatment, is put under the category of FGM (Female Genital Mutilation). Most cases of circumcision are seen in the country of Egypt.

At the same time, this practice is most prevalent in African countries. But it is also widely practiced in Asia, Middle East, Latin America, Europe and Australia-America. Talking about the country of India, here this practice is given the most importance in the Bohra community and a Sunni Muslim community in Kerala.

This is why circumcision is done

Now you must be thinking that why this painful and horrific practice is followed even today? Actually it is a kind of superstition. For years it has been believed that circumcision of girls from infancy to 15 years completely suppresses their sexual desires. In such a situation, she cannot feel this feeling before marriage. It is believed that feeling such a feeling before marriage makes her impure.

It is for this reason that in the process of circumcision, the clitoris, which is included in the external parts of women, is cut off. It is considered the most arousing part of women. By the way, what are your thoughts about this circumcision of women, do tell us by commenting.
