Dilip Kumar's Biography

Dilip Kumar was born on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar, which was then a part of British India (now in Pakistan). He was born as Muhammad Yusuf Khan to a fruit merchant Lala Ghulam Sarwar and his wife Ayesha Begum. Dilip Kumar was the youngest of the twelve siblings, and his family was deeply involved in the fruit trade.

Dilip Kumar's childhood was spent in Peshawar, where he attended a local school. He was a bright student and was interested in literature and poetry. He was also deeply interested in sports and was a proficient athlete.
